Winter Wonderland Wedding in Boston

On the day of the first real Winter snowstorm this January, I had the pleasure of photographing Megan & David’s wedding.

Let me introduce you to Megan … Dr. of Neurology - brains and beauty … some are lucky to get it all!

It was the first time that I got to work with the very talented Michele Bernard – love the flowers!!

This is the groom, David, who happens to be a surgeon.

This stunning cape was made by David’s mother … the perfect match to this statuesque bride.

A few days before the wedding I met with the couple to scope out locations in Boston.
Megan told me that she was really hoping for a Winter wedding… So glad her wish came true!

Megan and her friends were so fun and wonderful to work with… we all had a ball in the snow!

This kiss is my favorite shot from the whole wedding … the light was just amazing!

The State Room in Boston was the backdrop for this enchanted snowy evening

Everything was just exquisite… from the details of the room to the food …

And the entire crew at the State Room were wonderful and attentive!!

Following the cocktail hour was a traditional Korean Ceremony … I love these outfits, so colorful and festive.

Lori + Matthew from I Do Films in Chicago were there to capture the moving images.

I fell in love with their creative eye and style … check them out!!

Night Rythum set the stage with their amazing groove and style.

It was a magical and memorable night … Congratulations Megan and David!!

Handbound Albums

A wedding really feels complete once we deliver the albums to our client. And last week we picked up a gorgeous set of hand bound albums for Jennie & Adam, who’s wedding we photographed a couple of years ago. They are such a sweet couple, who now have a gorgeous eight month old son.

While we offer a wide variety of album types, we especially love making the hand bound albums and their timeless and classic feel. To be able to work with the finest materials and the collaboration with some of the best traditional bookbinders in the New England area is just amazing. They are truly unique end exquisite pieces of art – which happen to also be someones wedding album

For Jennie & Adman we photographed both the rehearsal dinner and the wedding – they decided that they wanted to create one album for each event.

Both albums are stored in this custom made clam shell box, which also protects them against dust and light.

The box opens up to reveal the set of albums.

Here is a closeup of the spine imprinting – the couple just wanted a blind impression,

but there is also a huge selection of tinted foils available which can be used.

One of the great things about our hand bound albums is that they are completely designed and crafted from scratch,

which means that any and all details can be customized to your liking.

This couple really fell in love with four different cloths, so we ended up using all of them

The rehearsal dinner album is much smaller, containing only around 30 images, the wedding album holds around 150.

Jennie & Adam chose to include a set of magnificent Katazome-Shi endpapers.

For this album we also made a fold out page which contained a great sequence of the couple walking on the lawn of Rosecliff.

The Celebration of Rochelle & Adam

The first wedding of 2012 took place at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City, a classic hotel in Midtown, Manhattan.

Flower arrangements by the ever talented crew from Tantawan …
I love their poetic and intricate, at times almost magical designs.

Rochelle, a designer herself, created the emblem that went on the bouquet…

The ceremony took place in one of several ballrooms…

and the reception in another, featuring beautiful details… Aren’t those gorgeous center pieces?

This crowd loves to dance…

and sing

Wedding Style Cover Fashion Shoot

I always LOVE working with WEDDING STYLE Magazine!!

Now that the magazine has appeared in print, we finally get to share some of our favorites

It is ever a joy to work with my dear friend Grace Ormonde, who always likes to push the visual envelope. And also the fabulous

Tracy Trouf, who makes it all happen – and who is also an amazing event planner.

Below the image which was selected as the cover shot. The gorgeous Brazilian models were just great to work with.

The setting for this shoot was an old warehouse … the juxtaposition of the raw industrial space to the high elegance of couture.

I love working with movement … it brings such a freshness, aliveness.

Thanks to the whole crew at Wedding Style magazine who made this shoot possible … we had a blast!!

Bohemian Beauties, Hippy Chic and Family …

One of the best parts of my Christmas break is seeing my large, beautiful and totally eccentric french family.

Allow me to introduce you to my sister Daphne’s kids.

Without much a do … Alix of Bohemia … fashion and clothing designer extraordinaire.

After spending 2 years wowing Hong Kong with her style and designs, Alix recently moved to London.

She is a visionary, creative soul, world traveler and all around tres chic IT gal …

Alix and I were talking about shooting her first major collection in an exotic location

and then I had the idea to do a sort of “Royal Tennebaums” theme.

In the beautiful house they grew up in, with all the siblings.

This is her little sister Olivia who is leaving NYC and heading to London UK! Yay!

The beautiful thing about Livi is that she has no idea how gorgeous she really is!!

This is Caleb, the youngest, a prefect at Choate Rosemary Hall.

He manages to be cute, creative, smart and quirky all at the SAME time.

And then there’s Cyril, who is dashing and elegant and so misunderstood … he’s a PICES after all …

Cyril is living and working in Paris, taking a break from St Andrews but mostly breaking a lot of girls hearts …

And this is Daphne, my amazing beautiful creative sister and the the mother of all these gorgeous kids!

Daphne is a ceramic artist, fabric and jewelry designer, architectural interiors, culinary maestro … the list is endless.

She is truly an artist … in every pore of her body … from the color she chooses to put on the walls to what she prepares for every meal.

I am so thrilled that she is moving to Rhode Island …Yippee!!

We just got back from a few days in New York City with Golf at his Tantawan studio.

Until my fashion site is up I wanted to share a bit of my other work that has been keeping me nicely busy.

These guys were extremely professional and really fun as well …

I must admit, being surrounded by so many beautiful men made the day go by rather quickly

Ari & Alex in Watch Hill Rhode Island

Ari and Alex were married at the beautiful Ocean House in Watch Hill Rhode Island.

Tradition was a major part of this wedding…

An ancient Torah was borrowed from Ari’s Grandmother …

Grandparents precious shawl, veil and watch …

These were Alex’s cowboy boots as a child and that were then bronzed …

We had the pleasure of of once again working with the very talented florist, Carla Steele of ” Elements Flowers “

Carla is the one who very sweetly recommended us for this wedding… Thanks Carla!!

We did the formal groupings before the wedding but had a special moment

where Ari and Alex saw each other all dressed up for the first time.

I highly recommend that formal groupings be done before a wedding,

It takes the pressure off and allows the couple to completely enjoy and be present at their cocktail hour.

I just love this light at sunset …

These glowing balls were just amazing!

Ari is an amazing musician and she sang a few songs for everyone …

What a wonderful wedding … Congratulations Ari and Alex!!

I met our good friends at Swan Point cemetery for their family portrait.

Sam is one of our son’s best buddies from school.

I have been putting together ideas for Christmas presents for all my siblings …

We are 9 children (including myself) + husbands and wives + 30 grandchildren + 5 great grandchildren…whew!

I came across these fantastic old photos from my parents old albums, which I will reprint for everyone.

This was my parents wedding day in Neuilly, Paris on the 20th of October 1945.

Perhaps looking at these images my whole life has rubbed off …

This could be one of my wedding images from one of my couples.

This is my mother as a baby …

And as a young girl …

She is so beautiful! My sweet mama.

Family Formals don’t need to be stiff and boring, they can express the emotional relationship between everyone …

I am from a very large, very close, very loving, sometimes crazy french family

and these are the type of photos that I love with my siblings and Parents…

I love this long table … Italian style. When you get the best people in the industry together, you can’t miss.

Our favorite pastry chef, Mark Soliday from Confectionery Designs made this gorgeous AND delicious cake.

I love this moss tray that Sayles designed to hold the name tags.
